Biblical. Confessional.

Liturgical. Missional.

Our Mission

Lutheran Mission - Australia seeks to support, encourage and strengthen Confessional Lutherans around Australia. We are excited to join you in reaching out with the unadulterated gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and see Him build His church as we uphold the Holy Scriptures as the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God and proclaim the whole counsel of God for the salvation of many.

We are planning to establish congregations wherever possible and welcome enquiries from existing congregations to join us. We are committed to continuing 'to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints' (Jude 3). Lutheran Mission - Australia has been established to ensure Confessional Lutheranism has a home in Australia for generations to come.

Our Confession

Lutheran Mission – Australia accepts without reservation the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as a whole and in all their parts, as the divinely inspired, written and inerrant Word of God, and as the only infallible source and norm for all matters of faith; acknowledges and accepts as true expositions of the Word of God and as its own confession all the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church contained in the Book of Concord of 1580; and continues to hold to the Theses of Agreement of 1965.

For the sake of clarity, Lutheran Mission – Australia also confesses the following Confessional Statement:

Articles

LM-A wants to help everyone to think deeply about the issues that surround Christ’s church in this world, and especially to grow in our knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.

Articles from Confessional Lutheran writers will be shared on a regular basis.

Connect with us

Our structure supports and strengthens Confessional Lutherans across Australia, regardless of synodical affiliation. During our Interim Phase, we aim to connect with you, understand your challenges, and share your hopes, preparing for the potential need of a ‘new’ synodical body to carry on our faith.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.
